A Week of Cookies

December 2020

Welcome to a week of cookies here on Sweet Temptations!

I absolutely love cookies and anyone who knows me can attest to this. Nothing says December quite like a warm batch (or better yet, batches) of cookies. In a year of such sadness and uncertainty, I’m clinging really hard to holiday traditions. For me, that means baking cookies like a mad woman all month long.

While I could probably sit here and write a full thesis on my love of cookies, I’ll skip that and get right to the point. I’ve put together a batch of cookie recipes that are fun, easy, sometimes crafty, and all around delicious and I’ll be sharing a new recipe each day for the next 7 days here on the blog. You can find a list down below of everything you have to look forward to and some of my general tips for making these recipes successfully. I hope you join me daily to see what I’m baking up here or on my IG stories.

Happy holidays and happy baking!

Tips + Tricks

If you have a kitchen scale, I’d recommend following the weight (g) amounts for each recipe. Weight is the most accurate form of measurement and this is especially important when baking. Volume measurements work, but are not the most accurate. The weight of a cup of flour that I measure can be very different than the weight of a cup of flour you measure. Grams are our best friend here. Accuracy in measuring an ingredient such as flour can be the difference between a chewy or cakey cookie.

I’m someone who likes to space out their cookie making. With that in mind, all of the doughs for these cookies can be made in advance. See each recipe for more detailed notes on prepping these cookies ahead.

I make all my cookies in a stand mixer, but they can all be made using a handheld electric mixer.

I recommend baking no more than two sheets of cookies at a time, with one sheet on the top third of the oven and another sheet on the bottom third. Adding a third sheet in the middle will prolong baking time and affect the browning of the cookies.
